Things You Should Know About YK11
YK11 is a steroid-SARM hybrid (otherwise known as a steroidal SARM). YK11 is a recent synthetic SARM found in the human body, based on 5-α-dihydrotestosterone (DHT). It was discovered in 2011 by the Japanese scientist, Yuichiro Kanno, working with bone tissue and muscle cells. Ostarine (MK-2866), additionally known as Enobosarm, is a selective androgen receptor modulator (SARM). SARMs like Ostarine stimulate androgen hormone receptors similar to the way in which naturally produced androgens (i.e. testosterone) do.
In comparison to anabolic steroids (anabolic-androgenic steroids, or “AAS”), which bind rather non- selectively to androgen receptors on many body tissues (prostate, scalp, skeletal muscle, etc.), SARMs can target particular tissues, which mainly include skeletal muscle and bone. Research has shown this to limit undesirable side effects. Research on SARMs also suggests that SARMs are (relatively speaking) less suppressive of endogenous (natural) testosterone production. However, SARMs can still be suppressive, and the variables include individual research subject response, dosage, and duration. SARMs do not aromatize (convert) to estrogen like testosterone and many steroids do, further limiting potential for side effects. For these reasons, among others, it is thought that SARM safety is higher than the safety of traditional anabolic steroids.
